1. Information We Collect

A. Local-First Data Strategy
As a privacy-focused application, TaxSense prioritizes keeping your financial data (salaries, tax codes, bonuses, and overtime shifts) securely stored locally on your mobile device by default. We do not require an internet connection to perform your tax estimations.

B. Firebase Cloud Sync (Opt-In)
If you choose to create an account and enable "Cloud Sync," we collect your email address and an encrypted payload containing your financial variables. This data is securely stored on Google Firebase servers solely for the purpose of synchronizing your data across multiple devices. You can delete this data at any time from within the app settings.

C. Automated Diagnostic Data
To monitor the health of the app and fix bugs, we may collect anonymous, non-identifying telemetry data (such as crash reports and device models). This data cannot be traced back to your individual account or identity.

2. How We Use Artificial Intelligence

TaxSense Pro features an AI Assistant utilizing the Google Gemini API. When you converse with the AI:

• Only the direct text of your questions (your "prompts") are securely transmitted to the Gemini API endpoint for processing the response.
• Your entire financial ledger is not uploaded to the AI model.
• Your queries are not used by TaxSense to personally identify you, and Google's API policies explicitly restrict the use of API data from being utilized to train their foundational models.

3. Third-Party Services We Use

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. We use industry-leading third-party services exclusively to provide essential app functionality:

• Google Firebase: Used for secure user authentication (Email/Password or Anonymous) and optional encrypted Cloud Sync database storage.
• RevenueCat: Used to manage, validate, and restore your Apple App Store subscription purchases. RevenueCat receives anonymized identifiers directly linked to your Apple ID purchase history, but does not receive your tax or financial variables.

4. Your GDPR & UK Data Protection Act Rights

In adherence to the UK DPA 2018 and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you possess the following rights regarding your data:

• Right to Access: You may request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Right to Erasure (Right to be Forgotten): You may completely delete your account and all associated Cloud Sync data at any point using the "Delete Account" function directly within the App's Security settings. Executing this permanently scrubs your data from Firebase servers.
• Right to Rectification: You may correct or amend any inaccurate personal data within the App.

5. Data Security

All data transmitted between the App and Firebase servers invokes industry-standard SSL/TLS encryption. Data at rest is encrypted according to Google Cloud infrastructure protocols. However, because the fundamental TaxSense architecture relies on local device storage, you are ultimately responsible for securing your physical device with adequate passcodes or biometric locks (Face ID / Touch ID).

6. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We evaluate our privacy practices consistently. If we formulate significant modifications to this policy, we will update the "Effective Date" at the top of this document and provide a notice within the TaxSense application.
